The Working Americans’ Tax Cut Act (S.4083 and H.R.7937) creates an exemption on federal income taxes up to the “cost of living” (approximately $45,000 a year*) for low-and middle-income Americans. The bill recovers the lost revenues by applying a modest surtax on incomes over $1 million.
Because working people have had it, rich people won’t feel it, and there’s no cost to the country.
